1. What Maal collects

Maal collects the information required to create and operate your member account, including your full name, email address, mobile number, Shop2Shop code, organisation memberships, wallet activity, contributions, payouts, and cash-out requests.

2. Why Maal uses this data

We use this information to authenticate you, manage stokvel participation, process contributions and payouts, operate wallet and cash-out features, investigate fraud or disputes, respond to support requests, and comply with financial, legal, audit, and record-keeping obligations.

3. Sharing and processing

Maal may share data only with service providers and infrastructure required to operate the service, process payments, send communication, secure the platform, or comply with lawful requests. Maal does not sell personal data.

4. Retention

If you request account deletion, Maal schedules your account for deletion after a 30-day grace period. If you log in again within those 30 days, the deletion request is cancelled automatically. After the grace period, Maal permanently removes account access and personal profile details where possible, while retaining records required for fraud prevention, dispute handling, reconciliation, financial reporting, legal compliance, and audit obligations.

5. Your choices

You can update profile details in the app and you can request account deletion through the Maal app or through the public account deletion page linked from Google Play and this website.
